About this fair
Known as "the world's supermarket," the Yiwu Fair is China's leading commercial platform for small goods and everyday consumer products.
Most in-demand products
Hardware, small appliances, toys, stationery, home textiles, costume jewelry.
Sources and verification
Is this trade fair worth visiting?
✓ Yes
Yes, especially if you source Consumer & Home Goods, Toys, Baby & Kids, want to compare samples in person or negotiate with several manufacturers in a few days.
— Not necessarily
Probably not if your product belongs to a different sector than Consumer & Home Goods, Toys, Baby & Kids, you already have verified suppliers and only need repeat orders, or the potential volume does not justify the trip.
Tips for visitors
Combine the fair visit with several days exploring Yiwu's permanent wholesale market (Yiwu International Trade Market).
Registration & entry
Professional visitor registration is done online on the fair's official website before you travel; bring your passport and business cards for accreditation.
Mind the venue: the Yiwu Fair takes place at the Yiwu International Expo Center — not inside the Futian Market — although almost every buyer combines fair and market in the same trip.
Visa: check the visa policy in force for your nationality before booking — short-stay exemptions cover many countries but conditions change frequently.
How to get there
By high-speed rail: Yiwu sits on the Shanghai–Kunming line — 30-40 minutes from Hangzhou East and about an hour and a half from Shanghai Hongqiao. From the station, 15-20 minutes by taxi or DiDi to the Expo Center or the Futian Market.
By air: Yiwu Airport (YIW) handles domestic flights; the usual alternative is flying into Hangzhou or Shanghai and continuing by train.
In the city: taxis and DiDi are cheap, and the BRT connects downtown with the Futian Market.
Where to stay near the fair
The best-rated hotel in the city, connected to the Glory Mall; the veteran buyers' favourite.
The other international classic, 500 metres from the Shangri-La and somewhat more affordable.
The logical pick if the fair is your priority: indoor pool and three restaurants.
Well-rated international mid-range, practical for long buying stays.
The Yiwu Fair coincides with the Canton Fair afterglow: book weeks ahead. On Trip.com, our code TLSX3O helps us keep this directory free.
Frequently asked questions
When is the 2026 Yiwu Fair?
From October 21 to 25, 2026 at the Yiwu International Expo Center. It slots in perfectly after Phase 2 of the Canton Fair: many buyers do Canton → Yiwu in the same trip.
Fair or Futian Market?
They are complementary: the fair concentrates manufacturers with new products for five days; the Futian Market is open all year with 75,000+ booths. If you travel on fair dates, do both.
What do you buy in Yiwu?
Small commodities at low MOQs: gifts, costume jewellery, toys, stationery, homeware, Christmas decorations, accessories… Ideal for stocking broad catalogues or testing products without big volumes.
How do I get there from the Canton Fair?
By high-speed rail from Guangzhou South to Yiwu (around 6-7 hours, several daily departures) or by flying to Hangzhou or Shanghai and taking a short train.
Where should I stay?
Next to the Futian Market (Shangri-La, Marriott, Hampton by Hilton) or next to the venue (Expo Center Hotel). In October, book weeks in advance.

Getting around
The city is small and manageable: taxis and DiDi are cheap and fast. The market (Yiwu International Trade Market) is divided into 5 numbered districts, each so large that it's worth planning which district to visit each day.
On local networks in mainland China, some international services may be restricted or unavailable. If you rely on them for work, prepare a connectivity solution that complies with current rules before travelling and do not depend on a single app. Hong Kong operates under a different internet regime.
