About this fair

The world’s largest plastics and rubber trade fair returns to Shenzhen in 2027, with more than 5,000 exhibitors from 40 countries across over 390,000 m². The 39th edition takes place at Shenzhen World Exhibition & Convention Center in Bao’an, with a strong focus on the circular economy, automation and sustainable materials.

Most in-demand products

Injection- and extrusion-moulding machinery, plastics and rubber materials, automation, packaging, recycling technologies and bio-based materials.

Sources and verification

Is this trade fair worth visiting?

✓ Yes

Yes, especially if you source Plastics & Rubber, want to compare samples in person or negotiate with several manufacturers in a few days.

— Not necessarily

Probably not if your product belongs to a different sector than Plastics & Rubber, you already have verified suppliers and only need repeat orders, or the potential volume does not justify the trip.

Tips for visitors

CHINAPLAS alternates between Shanghai and Shenzhen; in 2027 it is Shenzhen’s turn, in Bao’an, which has its own airport (SZX). If you combine the fair with visits to electronics factories, Bao’an is Shenzhen’s densest industrial district.

Registration & entry

Admission to CHINAPLAS is not free, but online pre-registration at chinaplasonline.com offers a significant discount: the four-day pass costs RMB 50 (about €6.50) versus RMB 80 at the ticket desk on the first day. Overseas visitors receive a confirmation letter to collect their badge at the venue by presenting their passport.
The exhibition is strictly B2B and requires real-name authentication: carry your physical passport at all times; a photo is not enough. Visitors under 18 are not admitted.
Visa: Spain and Portugal currently benefit from China's visa-free policy for short stays — check the rules in force before booking. If you do need a visa, the organiser can provide an invitation letter through the pre-registration platform.

How to get there

Metro: Shenzhen Lines 12 and 20 stop at Convention & Exhibition City (会展城), next to SWECC. It is the most reliable transport during the show, and the organiser specifically recommends it because road traffic becomes heavily congested.
From Shenzhen Bao'an Airport (SZX): the venue is only about 3–7 km from Terminals T3/T4 — under 15 minutes by taxi or DiDi without heavy traffic; Line 12 is the metro option.
From Guangzhou: take high-speed rail to Fuhai West station, around 1 km from the venue.
From Hong Kong: high-speed rail from West Kowloon to Shenzhen North, then metro towards Bao'an.

Where to stay near the fair

Hilton Shenzhen World Exhibition & Convention Center · About a five-minute walk from SWECC, Bao'an

A reference hotel for CHINAPLAS visitors: indoor and outdoor pools, 325 rooms, harbour views and excellent ratings on major booking platforms.

InterContinental Shenzhen WECC by IHG · Next to the venue, Bao'an

Five-star hotel beside SWECC with very strong ratings and convenient access to the complex; especially practical for groups and international delegations.

Crowne Plaza Shenzhen WECC by IHG · Next to the venue, Bao'an

The third IHG option in the SWECC cluster; upscale, highly rated and usually a little more affordable than the InterContinental.

Hilton Garden Inn Shenzhen WECC · About 500 metres from the venue, Bao'an (85 Zhanjing Road)

The mid-range Hilton option in the same cluster: 407 rooms and one of the best value-for-money choices during exhibition dates.

💡 Tip · Bao'an is an exhibition district

There is less to do around the venue than in central Shenzhen, but if you also plan electronics factory visits, staying in Bao'an is practical — a DiDi to Huaqiangbei is roughly 30 minutes. When booking on Trip.com, our code TLSX3O helps us keep this directory free.

Frequently asked questions

When and where is CHINAPLAS 2027?

13–16 April 2027 at Shenzhen World Exhibition & Convention Center (SWECC), Bao'an District, next to Shenzhen airport. It is the 39th edition and continues the alternating pattern between Shanghai and Shenzhen.

CHINAPLAS or simply finding a plastics supplier on Alibaba?

They are not comparable. CHINAPLAS brings together more than 5,000 exhibitors from around 40 countries. If you manufacture a custom product using injection moulds, you can identify materials, machinery, mould makers and automation suppliers in days rather than months of online searching.

How much is admission?

The four-day pass costs RMB 50 with online pre-registration (about €6.50) or RMB 80 at the ticket desk on the first day. It is not free, but the cost is very low relative to the sourcing value.

How do I get there?

Take Metro Line 12 or 20 to Convention & Exhibition City. The organiser specifically recommends metro because road traffic can become severely congested. Bao'an Airport is only about 3–7 km from the venue.

Where should I stay?

In the SWECC hotel cluster: Hilton (about five minutes on foot), InterContinental or Crowne Plaza beside the complex, or Hilton Garden Inn for a mid-range option. Book months ahead for the best choice.

Is it useful if I do not manufacture plastics but buy plastic products?

Yes. CHINAPLAS is not only about machinery: it also includes materials, colourants, additives, moulds and automation. If you source packaging, gadgets or any product containing plastic components, the fair helps you understand and source the upstream supply chain.

Getting around

Shenzhen's metro is modern and covers the whole city, including the border area with Hong Kong (Luohu/Futian station). Crossing into Hong Kong by metro plus border control takes about 45-60 minutes.
On local networks in mainland China, some international services may be restricted or unavailable. If you rely on them for work, prepare a connectivity solution that complies with current rules before travelling and do not depend on a single app. Hong Kong operates under a different internet regime.
