Sources and verification
Is this trade fair worth visiting?
✓ Yes
Yes, especially if you source Solar & Renewable Energy, want to compare samples in person or negotiate with several manufacturers in a few days.
— Not necessarily
Probably not if your product belongs to a different sector than Solar & Renewable Energy, you already have verified suppliers and only need repeat orders, or the potential volume does not justify the trip.
Tips for visitors
The 20th edition comes at an important moment for the sector. If you work with solar energy or related products such as power banks or solar lighting, the trends seen here often indicate what will reach Europe over the following 12–18 months.
Registration & entry
Professional visitor registration is completed online on the official website (snec-pv.com or pv.snec.org.cn) before travelling. Accreditation is free for professional visitors; bring your passport, business card and registration confirmation for entry.
SNEC is a high-profile B2B event with strong institutional participation, so access controls are strict. Overseas visitors must complete identity verification during online registration.
Visa: Spain and Portugal currently benefit from China's visa-free policy for short stays — check the rules in force before booking.
How to get there
Metro Line 2, East Xujing (徐泾东) station, directly next to NECC. This is the most direct connection from central Shanghai and from Hongqiao railway station.
From Hongqiao Airport (SHA): about 10–15 minutes by taxi or DiDi; Line 2 also runs directly.
From Pudong Airport (PVG): allow more than one hour by road or take Line 2 across the city — leave plenty of time.
Inside the venue: NECC is exceptionally large; check the official hall plan before arrival and identify the hall for your product category.
Where to stay near the fair
Direct access to the halls from the second floor: no transfers, plus an indoor pool and four restaurants.
Spacious rooms and very strong value for money during exhibition periods; a popular option for repeat NECC visitors.
A few minutes from NECC and close to the Hongqiao transport hub; ideal if you combine the fair with high-speed rail trips to other cities.
Staying close to the venue avoids long transfers in the heat. When booking on Trip.com, our code TLSX3O helps us keep this directory free.

Getting around
Shanghai has one of the world's largest metro networks. SNIEC is mainly served via Longyang Road/Huamu Road and NECC via East Xujing/National Exhibition and Convention Center, depending on the entrance. The Maglev links Pudong Airport with Longyang Road in about eight minutes; continue from there by metro or taxi.
On local networks in mainland China, some international services may be restricted or unavailable. If you rely on them for work, prepare a connectivity solution that complies with current rules before travelling and do not depend on a single app. Hong Kong operates under a different internet regime.
