Jinjiang

Jinjiang · 晋江

Jinjiang, in Fujian province, is "China's footwear capital": brands like Anta, 361° and Xtep are headquartered here, and the city concentrates thousands of footwear and sportswear manufacturers. It's more of a business city than a touristic one, but it retains a historic center with traditional southern Fujian (Minnan) architecture.

Getting around

Jinjiang has its own airport, Quanzhou Jinjiang International Airport (JJN), within the municipality itself, with flights to major Chinese cities (Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Hong Kong) but few direct international connections: for international flights it's usually better value to fly to Xiamen or Fuzhou first and continue by high-speed rail (Fujian's coastal line connects both cities to Jinjiang in just over an hour). Jinjiang doesn't have a metro yet, so getting around the city is usually by taxi or DiDi (starting fare ~9-15 CNY) or shared bikes like Mobike/Hello Bike, widely used for short trips.
On local networks in mainland China, some international services may be restricted or unavailable. If you rely on them for work, prepare a connectivity solution that complies with current rules before travelling and do not depend on a single app. Hong Kong operates under a different internet regime.
